Digital Journal-- background planning day

Checking on your blog today... Grades have to go in on FRIDAY
-Movement shoot
-Walk around the school abstract
-Light box-- in the back of room
-Lighting in the dark room (ring light, string of star lights)
-Knowling

I am dropping art off at Bridgeport art center in Chicago for the IHSAE show. Check the Cary Gove art insta story to check out the space!

The first step for your digital journal is choosing a background..
-You can either create one in photoshop brushes/tablet/ paint bucket or you can download backgrounds from the web to work on..
-Create a page break.. a line down the middle to help you keep organized (put this on on another layer incase you want to delete the line later..

Requirements
-Digital or physical.. you have to have it posted on your site
-You must include some element of self portrait.. mine was my face scanned in.. it can be obscure
-You must include some element of the bamboo tablet
-You must have some images overlapping in one area.
-You must have 100% of the image covered.. sooo don't just have a basic white background.

*My Pinterest board is linked on the blog to the right.. I pinned some backgrounds that may be a good place to start.

Collage and montage photogaphy

Dan created most of his journals between the ages of 15 and 22, although several small notebooks created previously are included here among his earliest books. He started his more formal journals in 1985 for a school anthropology trip and an English class. At the same time, Dan was beginning to travel around Kenya more often and to take more photographs. Both his adventures and his images made their way into his books.

Filled with ephemera from his young life — newspaper clippings, food labels, call girl cards picked up in London phonebooks, and even grains of rice — the journals are fragile. Today, they are stored at the Los Angeles country Museum of Art and are not available for most of us to see.

Start researching photo montages! The main photo in your piece has to be yours!
The rest of the images can come from the internet but have to be set for free usage.
